Ford CEO takes one giant leap for executive-kind.

In the last couple of days Ford CEO Alan Mulally promised that he would accept a $1 a year salary in order for the government to help keep the business afloat.

Finally.

Don’t get me wrong, with this deal I believe the government should bail out Ford (after all, they practically employ half the nation). I just feel that with all the luxuries that come with being a CEO of an important company, the perks that come with the job probably allow you to live pretty comfortably.

The next step is to have GM and Chrysler follow suit. Then congress should consider lending them money.

I know it will cost a lot to keep these businesses alive, but it is better than having a huge chunk of the population heading into unemployment lines.
