Senator McCain was alone, talking to himself ….
“Let’s see, I need a good veep candidate.
I want to win.
It would be nice to have someone ideologically similar to me.
Someone I can proudly send to meet foreign dignitaries, preferably someone who already has a relationship with a few friendly nations.
It would sure be a bonus if he had a presence in some ‘difficult’ countries.
Or perhaps someone who has personal experience working in under-developed countries.
Someone who can contribute to the discussion on big international issues.
Someone with experience dealing with Congress, so I can have forward my agenda without having to resort to “LBJ style” arm-twisting.
Someone who is strong in areas where I am weak, to aid my decision-making.
Man, Barack ticked off women by not choosing Hillary… How can I win some of those voters? How about a woman veep for me?
I need one who can steal a few Democrat and Independent votes without pissing-off the crazy right wing of my party. I am dead without the crazy right-wing vote.
I can’t choose someone old like me, I have to add some pizzazz to appeal to younger voters…
People also think I am hotheaded, so maybe someone who is relaxed and calm under pressure.
How many Republican women meet any of that?
Maybe I should just take a woman who looks hot. Aiming for the “Low-IQ vote” got “W” elected twice!
Wait… there is ONE woman… young… hot… smart…. international experience….
But, she has never been in the public spotlight.
Would the liberal press tear her apart?
